IGS Launches International STEM Education Assessment Project with ADB and ERIA

Release
2024.11.14

Institution for a Global Society Inc. (IGS), in partnership with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), has launched an international comparative project on the effectiveness of STEM education. The project began in Cambodia in September 2024, with assessments conducted at six local schools, involving approximately 380 students and 70 teachers.

The project employs two core tools developed by IGS: “Ai GROW,” an AI-powered tool that fairly evaluates 25 types of non-cognitive skills, and the “Mathematical Science Skills Assessment,” designed to measure scientific thinking and inquiry-based learning competencies.

This initiative is expected to contribute to global best practice sharing in STEM and competency-based education by demonstrating how such skills can be cultivated and assessed across different cultural contexts. IGS will continue to support international education improvement through data-driven measurement of learning outcomes.
